A seasonal approach to food is both natural and beneficial for your digestive health.

Fall Guide

As summer’s vibrant energy begins to mellow and the days grow shorter, we naturally enter a time of transition—moving from the intense heat of Pitta season into the cooler, lighter energy of Vata season.

In Ayurveda, this shift is crucial: after months of soaking in the sun’s radiance, the body often holds onto excess heat. If not released, this lingering Pitta can show up as inflammation, skin irritations, hair loss, or digestive discomfort. Now is the time to let go of that built-up heat while gently preparing for Vata’s cool, dry, and mobile qualities.

Support yourself with simple balancing practices—nature walks, moon bathing, gentle yoga, or pranayama. In your kitchen, begin to transition from the light, cooling foods of summer toward more grounding nourishment. Bring in sweet, sour, and salty tastes with root vegetables like sweet potatoes and carrots, and digestive spices such as ginger, cumin, and turmeric. Hydrating teas and broths infused with fennel, cardamom, or coriander can help release residual heat while steadying your system for the season to come.
