Fall Guide

As summer’s vibrant energy begins to mellow and the days grow shorter, we enter a time of transition—moving from the intense heat of Pitta season into the cooler, grounding embrace of Vata season. In Ayurveda, this is a crucial time to release excess heat from the body while gently preparing for the cooler, drier months ahead.

After months of soaking in the sun’s fiery energy, it is essential to help the body release any accumulated heat. If not addressed, this lingering heat can cause imbalances such as inflammation, skin issues, hair loss, or digestive discomfort. To support this process, consider incorporating cooling and grounding practices into your daily routine—such as taking nature walks, enjoying moon bathing, or practicing gentle yoga and pranayama.

In terms of diet, this is the moment to gradually shift from the light, cooling foods of summer to more grounding and nourishing options. Begin to increase warming, sweet, sour, and salty tastes to your meals—think of root vegetables like sweet potatoes and carrots, and spices like ginger, cumin, and turmeric, which not only warm the body but also support digestion during this transitional time. Hydrating teas and broths infused with spices such as fennel, cardamom, and coriander can help to both release residual heat and prepare your system for the cooler days ahead.

New! Millet Kitchari

1 meal

Savor the nourishing and detoxifying benefits of foxtail millet (Setaria italica) in this wholesome one-pot meal. Packed with iron, calcium, and protein, this ancient grain does double duty: it gently cleanses the intestinal lining, purifies the blood, and supports healthy cholesterol and blood sugar levels, while also strengthening the body and building bone tissue. Paired with mung dal and digestive spices, it’s a perfect blend for weight loss/management, restoring vitality, and supporting overall well-being.

New! Apple Blueberry Smoothie

1 10 oz smoothie

Comfort and balance your Vata dosha with this warm, creamy smoothie designed to calm your mind, nourish your body, and provide steady, focused energy throughout the day. Packed with vitamins and minerals from biodynamic blueberry and apple crystals, and sweetened naturally with organic date sugar, this smoothie offers a grounding alternative to cold, Vata-aggravating options. The addition of toasted oat flour provides a touch of protein and a satisfying creaminess, making it an excellent choice for digestive regularity, focus, and overall wellness. It’s also perfect for pregnancy and postpartum support.

Balanced Kitchari

1 meal

Balanced Kitchari is a smooth and savory one-pot meal that’s perfect for anytime of year, or when you’re feeling imbalanced. We’ve combined soaked and dehydrated grains and lentils with our freshly ground spice blend to make a convenient, feel-good meal. Enjoy this delicious, plant-based dish as is, or add your favorite veggies. Ready in 20 minutes.

Savory Millet with Beet & Chickpea Miso

1 meal

With the grounding properties of beets and the nourishing foxtail millet, the deep rich flavor of chickpea miso, and a masala spice blend to optimize digestion, this version of the Foxtail Millet dish is satisfying, nutritious, and ideal for keeping Pitta in check. Pack it for when you travel, or bring it on a hike for a nutrient-dense breakfast or dinner that’s ready in 10 minutes.  Just add hot water, no cooking required!

Restorative Broth

10 oz.

This cleansing, anti-inflammatory broth combines the antioxidant power of moringa with subtle spices and herbs. Moringa, prized in both Ayurveda and modern nutrition, helps draw out hot, acidic toxins from deep within the body. Cassava flour binds these toxins, while coriander aids in their elimination through the urinary tract.

Olive Oil

12 oz.

Aside from reducing excess dryness in the body (and skin), olive oil also binds with fat-soluble toxins for removal and supports mineral absorption.

Sweet & Smoky Sauce

9.6 oz.

This bold and flavorful sauce is made by blending smoky black cardamom with sweet raisins and tart cranberries. This spicy-sweet delight is perfect for adding a kick to grains, veggies, and even lasagna—or as a tasty twist on traditional barbecue sauce. Ready in just 5 minutes, it’s also a fantastic choice for holiday dishes!
