Balanced Kitchari is a smooth and savory one-pot meal that’s perfect for anytime of year, or when you’re feeling imbalanced. We’ve combined soaked and dehydrated grains and lentils with our freshly ground spice blend to make a convenient, feel-good meal. Enjoy this delicious, plant-based dish as is, or add your favorite veggies. Ready in 20 minutes.

This product is designed to have the entire package contents cooked at once. Each group size package contains 8 oz. Each single serving package contains 4 oz.

  1. Add package contents and ghee or olive oil to boiling water. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Add more water if the kitchari begins to stick to the bottom or dry out. The consistency should be creamy but not soupy.
  2. Turn off the heat and let the kitchari set for 3 to 5 minutes, covered.
  3. Serve hot and garnish with a drizzle of ghee or olive oil, fresh lime juice and a sprinkle of chopped fresh herbs such as cilantro, basil, dill or parsley.

Variation: Add diced vegetables to step 1 or chopped leafy greens in the last 5 minutes of cooking. Adjust the salt to taste.

It’s good in so many ways (delicious, convenient, healthy)

I love eating at Divya’s kitchen in NYC, the food is healthy AND delicious. When I want to recreate the magic of the restaurant trisodic kitchari, I just cook the content of the balance kitchari package, adding fresh veggie to the pot, sprinkling minced herbs on top when ready. A filling, satisfying, and most importantly tasty meal ready in less than 30 minutes. Yum!

I love all of divyas meal packs but especially the flavor of the balanced kitchari. It’s easy to make and healthy. I usually add some ginger & veggies too :) can’t wait to order again!
